Where Has Marjie Been?

This is Marjie's very proud little brother, Brian. I want to share a few fun tips about Marjie's blog...

(and this is Marjie, editing my brother's post, to give you a picture of him and his wife, Kristi. In this picture, she has just taken 20 minutes off of her time at the Lake Padden triathlon last Saturday.)

First off there is a new feature that I'm real excited about - an interactive map of ~most of~ the places that Marjie has been. (Find the link to it in the right sidebar.) It's by no means complete, but it's still impressive!

You can click and drag to move around the map and use the vertical slider bar on the left to zoom in and out. Click the thumbtacks to see the place names.

Next, I've noticed a reluctance of people to comment on Marjie's posts. Apparently some of you think you have to be part of an exclusive club or famous to leave remarks. Please don't be afraid to leave comments on the posts - it's very encouraging to the author to know that people are enjoying her efforts no matter how mundane or politically incorrect the comment is.

You can practice leaving a comment telling me to butt out by clicking on the "comments" link at the bottom on this (or any) post.

Lastly, if you haven't ever used an RSS reader to keep up to date on things like blog posts and your friends' pictures, I highly recommend trying it out. Using an RSS reader (I recommend Google Reader) allows you to subscribe to all sorts of content and then instantly see if anything new has been added by looking in just one place. You can find a good, basic intro to RSS here and you can find a link to subscribe to Marjie's Glob using RSS in the right sidebar.

Ok - that's enough from me. Enjoy Marjie's adventures!
(Anyone want to bet that she ends up living close by a nurse that at some point ends up giving her an injection?)

-Brian

Marjie... I will be happy to comment! I love NYC - was supposed to move there; came to Bham instead. Weird, I know. I have some amazing friends that live in NYC... I know you will be crazy busy, but if you want some personal tours, they are GREAT fun! Some of my fav peeps I know...

If I don't like any of the participants, I will take you up on that offer! I have yet to meet any of them, since I am avoiding everyone until Monday. Thank you for offering your friends!

Ok so maybe I just posted and don't know it-love hearing of your adventures and having visuals as well. I am hungry just reading your words. Can't wait to eat great food with you when you get home and debrief this awesome experience. So impressed you have your umbrella on you and all times and know what you mean about describing NYC rain as a "deluge." Great word from one amazing woman! love you-me
