So I decided to walk down to my local vending machine corner.

It's back in a dead end hallway with no windows and a janitors closet across the hall. The fluorescent lights cast a yellowish-green tint to the machines and flicker a bit, but it's just outside my office so I like to pretend it's my private row of machines.

There I was mechanically offered a small packet of Planters Trail Mix, made with Peanuts, Cashews, Almonds, Raisins and a few M&M's to add sweetness. All this was packaged in a colorful, 2oz portioned cellophane wrapper. There was a bright label next to it that said "Smart Pick!".

It was delicious! I could have eaten 4oz, but since they cost $.85 each I only had enough change on me for one. I'm certain that the vending machine company overcharges for this, but since it's convenient to my office and most of the other food places here on campus close at 3pm, and since Marjie has a knack for making me hungry, I don't mind so much. I see it as a kind of good karma for the corporate food industry.Brian Bowkerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05403063305711678063noreply@blogger.com
